Oral Storytelling Workshop

Date(s) - 06/15/2022
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Oral storytelling is an important aspect of diverse cultures across the world, including the Celtic/Irish culture. Oral storytellers bring stories to life in engaging ways by leveraging a distinct craft with core techniques.

While oral storytellers historically passed down stories from generation to generation through theatrical stories and song, today’s authors and illustrators can apply the same techniques to better engage with their audiences during readings on school visits and book tours.

Paul Timoney will join us for a 1-hour webinar consisting of a presentation on the topic of Oral Storytelling, which would also include a 15-minute Q&A session. There will be a recording of the webinar available for on-demand watching shortly after the event. The recording will be available for 30 days.

Listen to oral Irish stories and learn about the craft of oral storytelling and how you may apply it to your publishing journey.

PAUL TIMONEY is an Irish artist, performer, storyteller, poet, and art teacher with 20 years of experience. He performs for all types of audiences and recently completed a project with The Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray.
